Minimum Qualification :

Predominantly in Mechanical Engineering aspects of Power transmission industry (Preference) and Considerable experience in leading and executing projects (5 – 6 projects) Objective / Purpose As a Project Engineering Manager – MEP, the person is primarily responsible for facilitating coordination between multi-disciplines and also ensure that the engineering activities of the project takes place within stipulated time within the margins (w.r.t. both quality & cost). She / He shall also be required to incorporate of optimizations for the delivery of the project with a positive margin. She / He is required to be responsible for the approval of detailed design engineering for a project by coordination with several disciplines (Substation, Structural, Civil & Instrumentation) for design purposes. The Manager shall also be responsible for work allocation (man-hours allotment) for different roles required for a project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination with multi-disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical) for understanding and communicating of requirements of client and providing clarifications

• Undertaking Detailed Heat Load calculations and Reviewing of designs, calculations & drawings (as submitted by Draughtsperson) and ensuring their timely submissions after obtaining approvals from customer

• Clarification of issues w.r.t. vendors and ensuring timely delivery of materials at project site

• Enabling & reviewing of accurate estimation in terms of quantity for submission of Bill of Materials

• Reviewing of critical issues and procedural delays w.r.t. design aspects of equipment and extending support to Site Execution teams

• Settling procurement issues and extending support to Supply Chain management for ensuring order finalization for Vendor Engineering

• Extending support for BOQ, review of pre-bid offers and technical submissions & providing post-tender clarifications (after clarification from vendors) to the contracts team

• Reviewing of Vendor evaluation (w.r.t. technical specification requirement of the client)

• Responsible for ensuring Manufacturing Clearance by undertaking and facilitating necessary communication with suppliers

• Communicating & clarifying deliverable list from the client and obtaining resource requirement for project

• Inspection of HVAC & Fire-fighting equipment of Substation

Technical Expertise:

The Project Engineering Manager shall have major designing experience and knowledge of ancillary mechanical equipment selection – HVAC (Package Air Conditioning units, Duct-able Splits, AHU, VRV type AC units, Chillers, Cooling towers, Centrifugal fans, Tube Axial Fans, Ducting, Grills, Dampers, Insulation) & Firefighting (Pumps, Smoke detectors, Heat detectors, GI & MS piping, gas suppression system, HVW System). Furthermore, the Manager is required to have understanding of leading and execution of projects (for state / central / private) utilities with suitable optimization considerations. Finally, the she / he should have detailed knowledge of the equipment to be installed and the market conditions for vendor engineering.
