Menswear Couture Designer

Location- Gurgaon (Gurugram), Haryana

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Menswear Couture Designer to lead design innovations and bring on-brand visions to life. The ideal candidate will design couture menswear pieces from concept through to final product—working closely with artisans, pattern makers, and production teams to deliver garments that meet the highest standards of luxury.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceive, sketch, and develop seasonal couture menswear designs (e.g. bandhgalas, sherwanis, tuxedos, formal ensembles, bespoke pieces).
• Create mood boards and seasonal themes; conduct trend research, colour studies, fabric & trim sourcing.
• Produce detailed technical specs and tech-packs, overseeing pattern development, toiles, draping, and fittings.
• Ensure robust garment construction, finish, and detailing (embroidery, embellishments, handwork) with precision.
• Coordinate with artisan / hand-craft teams to translate design intent into beautifully finished couture garments.
• Work closely with production to ensure quality, fit, timelines, and cost parameters are met.
• Maintain consistency with brand identity and style across all designs.
• Present designs internally (creative / leadership team) and adapt based on feedback while retaining vision.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related discipline.

• Experience:

  3-8 years (or more) in menswear design, ideally in couture / bespoke tailoring.
• Strong portfolio showing couture or high-end menswear work, especially garment construction, finishing, and detailing.
• Proficiency in sketching by hand, digital illustration (Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop etc.), and creating tech-packs.
• Deep knowledge of fabrics, linings, trims, drapes, and traditional handwork / embroidery techniques.
• Fit & proportion skills, pattern-making / draping or ability to direct those who do.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, maintain high quality, and adapt.
