Job Title: Medical Transcriptionist – Radiology Department

Job Summary:

The Medical Transcriptionist in the Radiology Department is responsible for accurately transcribing radiology reports, dictations, and clinical notes provided by radiologists. The role ensures timely, error-free documentation to support patient care and departmental workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe radiology dictations including X-ray, CT, MRI, USG, and other imaging reports with high accuracy.
• Edit and proofread transcribed reports to correct grammatical, medical, and formatting errors.
• Ensure all reports meet hospital standards, TAT (Turn-Around Time), and confidentiality policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality as per hospital and legal guidelines.
• Coordinate with radiologists for clarification of unclear dictations or discrepancies.
• Manage and organize digital voice files and completed reports.
• Enter finalized reports into the hospital information system (HIS/RIS/PACS).
• Assist radiologists in preparing templates and standardized report formats.
• Ensure timely delivery of completed reports to concerned departments.
• Maintain logs, documentation accuracy records, and TAT performance.
• Follow departmental SOPs, safety norms, and compliance guidelines.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong command over medical terminology, especially radiology terms.
• Excellent typing speed (minimum 50–60 wpm preferred).
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and error-free documentation.
• Good listening skills and ability to interpret different accents.
• Knowledge of HIS/RIS/PACS software preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate in any discipline (preferably life sciences).
• Certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a transcriptionist, preferably in the radiology department.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
