Key Responsibilities: Patient Preparation and Care: Preparing patients for endoscopic procedures, educating them on pre-procedure instructions, and monitoring their vitals during and after procedures. Equipment Management: Maintaining and cleaning endoscopic equipment, ensuring it's sterile and in optimal working condition. Procedure Assistance: Assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary instruments and supporting the technical aspects of the procedure. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of procedures and patient information, adhering to health regulations. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on equipment when needed. Collaboration: Working effectively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to ensure smooth and efficient patient care. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Familiarity with endoscopic equipment and procedures, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of GI Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding of the digestive system and its functions. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in maintaining equipment, documenting procedures, and ensuring patient safety. Certification and Training: Certification from a recognized endoscopy technician program, basic cardiac life support (BCLS) certification, and potentially specialized training in specific endoscopic procedures.
