Mechatronics Engineer

Location: Remote or Onsite (preferably Kerala)
Type: Contract / Part-time (2–3 months, with potential for longer-term role)

About the Role

We’re developing an early-stage automotive safety hardware prototype. This system involves sensor-triggered mechanical deployment using compressed gas and rapid actuation, built for real-world collision environments.

Due to the sensitive and potentially patentable nature of this work, full details will be shared only after NDA signing.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build a physical deployment system involving solenoids, pressurized containers, and custom mechanical housing
• Collaborate with embedded developers on trigger synchronization
• Source and assemble hardware components: valves, tubing, deployment shell
• Conduct controlled physical tests to simulate deployment scenarios
• Optimise for speed, reliability, and reusability

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in mechatronics / mechanical-electrical integration
• Worked with pneumatics, CO₂ cartridges, solenoid valves, or deployable systems
• CAD experience (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks)
• Comfortable building prototypes from scratch
• Familiarity with Arduino or embedded sensor systems is a plus
