You’ll play a critical role in expanding our market presence across government agencies, maritime industries, defense sectors, and smart infrastructure partners. With a mission to drive the blue revolution in India and beyond, we are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to strengthen our presence in the maritime sector. Role Overview We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to lead client acquisition, partnerships, and revenue growth in the marine and defense ecosystem. This role will be central to positioning our electric boats, outboard motors, and underwater robots as preferred solutions for ports, logistics, government agencies, and private operators. Key Responsibilities Identify and generate leads in the maritime sector : shipyards, port authorities, defense/naval agencies, tourism operators, logistics, and fisheries. Develop and implement sales strategies to position Xera Robotics as a leader in electric & autonomous marine solutions. Manage the complete sales cycle – prospecting, product presentations, solution customization, negotiation, and closure. Build strategic partnerships with distributors, system integrators, and government stakeholders. Track tenders, grants, and procurement opportunities in the marine and defense ecosystem. Represent Xera Robotics at maritime expos, defense shows, and sustainability forums . Work closely with the product and engineering teams to align client requirements with technical deliverables. Provide insights on market trends, competitor landscape, and customer needs to inform business strategy. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering/marine/business (MBA preferred). 4–7 years of proven experience in maritime business development, shipbuilding, marine equipment sales, or defense sector engagements . Strong track record in lead generation and sales closure, especially in government & B2B markets . Excellent networking, negotiation, and presentation skills. Familiarity with marine sustainability trends (electric & hybrid propulsion, green shipping, blue economy initiatives and Drone sales) is highly desirable. Ability and willingness to travel extensively across ports and coastal regions . Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a startup environment.
