Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

Seal Design and Selection:
Sealing engineers analyze system requirements, such as pressure, temperature, and media, to choose the appropriate seal type, material, and geometry.
Material Science:
They possess a strong understanding of seal materials, including elastomers, plastics, and metals, and their properties under different conditions.
Testing and Validation:
Sealing engineers conduct both virtual (CAE) and physical testing to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and reliability requirements.
Failure Analysis:
They investigate seal failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Manufacturing Support:
They work with manufacturing teams to ensure proper seal installation and assembly processes.

Key Areas of Expertise:

Static Seals:
Used in applications where there is no relative motion between sealing surfaces (e.g., gaskets).
Dynamic Seals:
Used in applications involving relative motion, such as piston seals or rotary shaft seals.
Materials Selection:
Knowledge of material properties, chemical compatibility, and temperature resistance.
