Mechanical Engineer- Chassis Equipment

As a Mechanical/Automobile Engineer specializing in Chassis Equipment within the CSETA Technology Group at Volvo, your primary focus will be on designing exhaust systems for various fuel types such as Diesel, Biodiesel, LNG, and H2-ICE. You will be responsible for the design of key components including Upstream/Downstream pipes, Muffler, Flex hoses/Bellows, Mountings, Installation, DEF tank & DEF/Urea lines, and other related aspects. Your role will involve working closely with suppliers for component development, establishing a strong network with global counterparts and cross functions, and strategizing additional responsibilities for participation in global projects. Additionally, you will need to collaborate with Global XFs and Suppliers worldwide, ensuring the right participation & contribution to Advanced Engineering, Product Strategy Roadmaps, and KM topics. To qualify for this role, you should hold a B.E/B.Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 4-8 years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience with exhaust systems for Diesel, CNG, and LNG, as well as familiarity with product design & development in sheet metals and casting within the chassis domain, are essential. Experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry and knowledge of GD&T, 3D Tools (Creo), and Volvo Tools and Processes (KOLA/PDM) will be advantageous. Your ability to work in an agile manner, understanding Chassis Equipments packaging, routing & development, and willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills will be crucial for success in this role. Excellent communication, collaboration, delegation, and co-operation skills are highly valued, along with a customer-focused approach, goal orientation, and drive for results. Being structured, well-organized, and having a passion for providing high-quality solutions within deadlines are key attributes we are looking for.
