Mechanical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Learning and Application of SolidWorks

• Develop proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
  
• Understand and apply parametric modeling techniques to create mechanical components and assemblies.
  

2. Assisting in Design Development

• Support senior engineers in designing mechanical parts and assemblies for projects.
  
• Modify and update existing CAD models and drawings based on feedback or design changes.
  

3. Drafting and Documentation

• Prepare engineering drawings following company standards and engineering practices.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of design changes and revisions.
  

4. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and testing teams to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable.
  
• Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback.
  

5. Basic Engineering Analysis

• Assist in performing basic stress, thermal, or motion analysis using SolidWorks Simulation or other tools.
  
• Identify potential design issues and suggest improvements.
  

6. Compliance and Standards

• Follow industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations in all design work.
  
• Learn and apply best practices for design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  

7. Continuous Learning

• Stay updated on new features and updates in SolidWorks software.
  
• Develop skills in related areas like sheet metal design, weldments, and surface modeling.
