Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Product Design Engineer at our company, your primary responsibility will be to develop innovative and robust product designs for New Product Development (NPD) projects. You will be required to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and form-fit-function requirements throughout the design process. Your role will involve end-to-end design execution from concept creation to part realization, including Intellectual Property (IP) generation. Key Responsibilities: - Create and validate subsystem/component designs using Creo and simulation tools - Perform theoretical calculations and structural analysis - Conduct benchmarking to identify value-add opportunities - Collaborate with Industrial Design and product teams to develop manufacturable concepts - Design a variety of parts including plastic, metal, die-cast, extruded, and rubber components - Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs), 2D drawings with Critical-To-Quality (CTQs), and manage part inspections - Execute reverse engineering processes and provide support for Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and tolerance stack-up - Build and test prototypes, maintain design documentation, and manage change control processes - Support should-costing activities and ensure design validation through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Qualifications: - B.E/B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Experience: - 5-10 years of relevant experience Skills & Tools: - Expertise in Creo, DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, prototyping, basic simulations, benchmarking, design costing, and proficiency in Excel/Minitab Soft Skills: - Strong communication skills, adaptability, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and effective time management Certifications: - Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification is preferred,
