Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for developing 3D models of commodity components using CAD software based on the vendor specifications. You will need to ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and industry standards such as ISO, ASME, DIN, etc. Additionally, you will evaluate the redundancy in the system for the requirements and support global standardization (Commonality) of the commodities to improve reusability and efficiency. Collaboration with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure compatibility of components will also be a key part of your role. You will be maintaining part models and documentation in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and PDM (Product Data Management) systems, ensuring interchangeability (Form, Fit & Function) of components across different product lines. Key Responsibilities: - Develop 3D models of commodity components using CAD software - Ensure compliance with GD&T and industry standards - Evaluate redundancy in the system and support global standardization - Collaborate with different teams to ensure compatibility of components - Maintain part models and documentation in PLM and PDM systems - Ensure interchangeability of components across different product lines Qualification Required: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering - 3 to 6 years of experience in design and CAD development of mechanical and electromechanical components - Proficiency in advanced 3D modeling using NX and Creo CAD software - Strong communication skills - Familiarity with PLM and PDM tools - Understanding of detailed manufacturing processes and end-to-end parameters of Mechanical/Electromechanical components - Expert knowledge in Mechanical component parameters and their impact on product performance - Review and interpretation of component data sheets and drawings - Use of platforms like TraceParts, McMaster-Carr, Fastenal, or Part Community for component research Additional Details: The company is looking for someone who also has knowledge of BOM Management tools like Silicon Expert and HIS, understands materials (Metals, Polymers), surface treatments & coatings, and has exposure to CAD validation methods.,
