Job Description

Job Summary:The Car Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing Tata passenger vehicles as per standard operating procedures. The role demands strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to Tata Motors' quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:Vehicle Diagnosis & Repair: Perform inspection and diagnostics on vehicles using approved tools and diagnostic systems. Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs as per job card instructions. Escalate major repair jobs or repeated issues to the Floor Supervisor. Routine Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance services including oil change, filter replacement, brake inspection, etc. Ensure vehicle systems are in compliance with Tata Motors' service checklist. Documentation & Reporting: Fill job cards accurately with time taken and parts replaced. Report additional issues to service advisors for customer approval. Quality Control: Ensure zero repeat jobs and adherence to First-Time Fix standards. Test drive vehicles post-service to confirm repair quality and safety. Tool & Equipment Handling: Use and maintain service tools and diagnostic equipment responsibly. Report any tool malfunction to the Workshop Supervisor. 5S & Safety: Maintain cleanliness in the work area. Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required.
