Key Responsibilities

• Write

  original, advanced IMO-style mathematics problems

  to challenge next-generation AI systems.
• Evaluate

  AI-generated solutions

  for correctness, rigor, and mathematical clarity.
• Identify

  logical flaws

  , incomplete arguments, or insufficient proofs.
• Produce

  clear and precise LaTeX-formatted solutions

  with full reasoning chains.
• Maintain the

  highest standards of mathematical precision, creativity, and difficulty.

Ideal Qualifications

proficient in LaTeX

• A

  problem writer, coach, selection committee member, medalist, or participant

  in major mathematics competitions such as:

• IMO, IMO TST, RMM, USAMO, APMO, IMC, EGMO

• Strong in

  algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory

  .
• Skilled at explaining

  complex reasoning clearly and rigorously

  .
• Disciplined, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

Project Details

• Commitment:

  20 hours/week minimum; up to 40 hours/week available.

• Duration:

  ~2 months (with potential extension).

• Start Date:

  Rolling, typically within 1–2 days of approval.

• Schedule:

  Fully remote and asynchronous — flexible working hours.

Compensation

IMO Participants:

• 🥇 Gold Medalists – $85/hr
• 🥈🥉 Silver/Bronze Medalists or Selection Committee Members – $70/hr
• 🏅 Honorable Mentions – $60/hr
• 🎓 Participants – $50/hr

Other Competitions:

• 🥇 Gold Medalists – $70/hr
• 🥈🥉 Silver/Bronze Medalists – $65/hr
• 🎓 Participants – $50/hr

Contract Terms

• Open to contributors

  worldwide

  (English proficiency required).
• Structured as an

  independent contractor engagement

  through Mercor.

• Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
