Role: Software Engineer – AI Research Project (Remote) Pay: $20–$100/hour (based on experience and location) Type: Hourly contractor (independent) Time Commitment: 15–40 hours per week Openings: 40 Location: Remote – Remote ( India & Global ) U.S. pay range provided Overview Software Engineers are being recruited for a research collaboration with leading AI labs. This project focuses on developing and reviewing unit test suites for complex, real-world codebases. The goal is to ensure robustness and maintainability of systems used to train advanced AI models. Who this is for Strong fit for engineers who: Have 2+ years of experience (professional or open-source) working with Python, Java , or JavaScript/TypeScript Are comfortable writing unit tests in at least one of those languages Have worked with or contributed to complex open-source projects Have experience using Docker Work Structure Work is fully remote and asynchronous Minimum time commitment is 15 hours/week , with potential to increase to 40 hours/week depending on performance Engineers will interface directly with AI researchers from top labs Successful contributors are more likely to be invited to future research engagements Compensation and Legal Details Hourly rate is determined by location and experience Paid weekly via Stripe Connect based on hours logged Role is structured as an at-will independent contractor position Equal Opportunity All qualified applicants are considered without regard to legally protected characteristics.
