Key Responsibilities

Material Inspection & Verification

  • Inspect all incoming construction materials (cement, steel, concrete, aggregates, formwork materials, waterproofing items, etc.) against purchase orders, specifications, and project quality standards.
  • Verify supplier certifications, test reports, and compliance documents.
  • Conduct random sampling and coordinate laboratory testing of materials as per the approved project quality plan.
  • Check manufacturing details, batch numbers, and shelf life for time-sensitive materials.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure all materials comply with applicable international/national codes and standards (ASTM, BS, IS, ACI, etc.).
  • Monitor proper storage, handling, and protection of construction materials at site to prevent deterioration.
  • Support concrete quality control including cube casting, slump tests, and site trials.

Site Coordination

  • Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve material-related non-conformities.
  • Report and document rejected or non-compliant materials, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with procurement and project management teams to ensure timely availability of approved materials.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test reports, approvals, and rejection reports.
  • Prepare and submit

    Material Inspection Requests (MIRs)

    for client/consultant approval.
  • Assist in preparing QA/QC reports, audits, and compliance documents as per project requirements.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO standards.
  • Ensure that all materials used are environmentally safe and comply with statutory safety regulations.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and green construction practices in material usage.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, particularly for

    Mivan shuttering, concrete, reinforcement steel, waterproofing, and finishing materials

    .
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
  • Familiarity with laboratory and field testing procedures for concrete, soil, steel, and other building materials.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
  • QA/QC certifications (ISO 9001, ACI, ASNT, etc.) preferred.
  • Mandatory experience in material inspection for Mivan high-rise residential construction projects.
