Job Description

Join us as a Markets Legal Global Contract Services Knowledge & Data Team member of the Knowledge & Data Team within the Markets Legal master agreement negotiation team (Global Contract Services) in Pune, India. As a member of the Knowledge & Data Team, you will provide daily support to the broader Global Contract Services team and other internal stakeholders by reviewing final agreements for completeness, extracting relevant legal and business data points, assisting with counterparty diligence and execution of master agreements, managing management information, and storing legal documents in Barclays central document repository. The Knowledge & Data Team maintains controls to ensure that data elements captured accurately flow to downstream consumers, regulatory requirements are satisfied, and critical data points meet Chief Data Office standards. Other duties include efficiently answering queries, data analysis & remediation, production of reporting, and ad hoc project work as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest team within Barclays Legal. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with data management and analysis, document management systems, managing document repositories, the ability to navigate various IT systems used by the Legal function, experience assisting with research, remediation, and ad hoc projects, as well as strong organization and communication skills. Flexibility to work UK hours is required. Basic/Essential Qualifications include a Tertiary/University or bachelor's degree (LLB or equivalent) preferred, competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The purpose of this role is to ensure that operations in the country or region comply with applicable laws and regulations and help manage legal and reputational risks. Key accountabilities include developing and implementing best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance, providing legal advice and support to the bank's country coverage teams, representing the bank in legal proceedings, creating and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research and analysis, delivering training programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Analyst Expectations involve performing activities in a timely and high standard manner, driving continuous improvement, demonstrating technical knowledge and experience, leading and supervising a team, guiding professional development, and coordinating resources. Individuals are expected to impact related teams, partner with other functions and business areas, escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately, advise and influence decision-making, and take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls.
