Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Assembly Operations to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 to 9 years of progressive experience in optimizing assembly lines, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and improving efficiency, quality, and safety within a manufacturing environment. This role will be critical in driving process improvements, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization & Improvement:
• Identify, analyses, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste (Muda), and improve product quality using Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen).
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation for all assembly operations.
• Conduct time studies, cycle time analysis, and line balancing to optimize throughput and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to assembly, including defects, rework, and equipment malfunctions.

• Fixture & Tooling Design/Improvement:

• Design, develop, and implement assembly fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve ergonomics, reduce cycle time, and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and ease of assembly for new products.

• New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:

• Participate in the NPI process from concept to full production, ensuring smooth transitions and successful launch of new products into assembly.
• Develop and validate assembly processes for new products, including process flows, PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and control plans.

• Quality Assurance & Control:

• Implement and monitor process controls to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for assembly-related defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain high product quality standards.

• Equipment & Automation:

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement new assembly equipment and automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual labor.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues.

• Training & Mentorship:

• Provide technical guidance and training to assembly operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
• Act as a mentor to junior engineers or new team members.

• Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all assembly processes adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in workplace ergonomics.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field diploma with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 to 9 years of progressive experience as a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong focus on assembly operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, SMED).
• Strong understanding of assembly processes, tooling, and fixturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) for fixture and tooling design.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and other quality tools.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements leading to measurable results.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
