Role Purpose
The role is responsible for indirect tax compliances (viz. tax payments, Return filings etc. ), compilation of data for audits, assessments, disputes/ litigations, tax reconciliations etc.
Role Accountability
  1. Ensure all indirect tax compliances across India which broadly includes the following:
    1. Coordinate with various functions for input data
    2. Analyze the data and obtain clarification from stakeholders as required
    3. Prepare tax computations
    4. Income/ Expense to tax and GL Reconciliations
    5. Review and payment of taxes
    6. Review of periodic indirect tax returns backed up with requisite data, reconciliation
    7. Manage filling of GST returns for all registrations including GSTR 9 and 9 C
  2. Supervise the process of preparation of monthly Cenvat credit register (ensuring compliance to eligibility criteria set in Cenvat Credit Rules)
  3. Manage coordination of work such as arranging data, invoices, agreements, payment dates etc.
  4. Prepare and review reconciliations on taxes; Turnover as per GST returns with Turnover in the books of accounts, review of calculation of GST working and returns; ensuring tax as per Vision Plus is in-line with the income levied
  5. Prepare data required in any proceeding, enquiry, litigation etc.
  6. Ensure invoices on which GST credit is taken by the company have been reported by the vendors to the GST Authorities
  7. Manage inter branch invoicing
  8. Manage issuance of invoices for Interchange (VISA, MC and RuPay) to all the banks on a monthly basis and their reporting on GST portal and reconciliation with books
  9. Review tax positions and making sure that they are inline with newly introduced GST law
  10. Assist in audits (Quarterly Internal Audit, CAG audit, Statutory Audit, RBI Audit, Limited reviews, Service Tax audits, etc. )
  11. Support appeals and other legal recourses arising from disputed audits, assessments and subsequent appellate proceedings, drafting and vet appeals prepared by law firms to be filed before Appellate authorities on behalf of the company; drafting of replies to be filed before tax authorities
  12. Assist management / tax driven projects related requirements from tax perspective; Work with cross-functional team (marketing, finance etc. ) for transactional support on new product and business development activities
  13. Post and approve necessary tax entries in Oracle
  14. Ensure registration under the custom laws are in place and renewed regularly and compliance with custom procedures as and when imports are being done
  15. Supervise indirect tax related balance sheet accounts
  16. Review and analyze tax triggers in IT systems
  17. Monitor vendor management viz. vendor enrollment and payment of bills etc.
  18. Supervise ASP/GSP implementation for GST compliances and related integration with GST portal
  19. Undertake compliances under the erstwhile tax laws and assisting Tax Authorities in completing tax assessments under those laws
  20. Perform process documentation and compliance adherence

  1. Compliance for all the deposits filings with zero misses
  2. Ensure minimal escalations
  3. Reports with minimal objections
  4. Reduction in number of disputes refunds
  5. Favorable order and timely appearance
  6. Implementation of projects within timelines, budget, and quality of deliverables
  7. Timely replies to all queries, notices etc.
  8. Timely and accurate updation of process documentation
  9. Process Adherence as per MOU
Technical Skills / Experience / Certifications
  1. Understanding of Tax Laws accounting
  2. Expertise in MS Office tools
  3. Knowledge of Financial Analytics
  4. Understanding of Automation and AI
  5. Knowledge of IT systems used in financial sector business (Vision PLUS etc. ) will be an added advantage
