Job Description

As a Senior Associate at BDO India Services Private Limited, you will be responsible for performing testing procedures including substantive and controls testing, vouching, and verification. You will provide necessary support to the team manager on audit engagement formalities and handle areas and work allocated, including testing and relevant audit procedures. Your role will involve preparing audit work papers and ensuring compliance with firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will manage and supervise junior team members, acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the team with the client in terms of data flow, communication, coordination, and discussions. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating with internal and external teams, supporting the team on standardization of processes, documentation, analysis of technical issues, and research solutions. You will support the team manager in project management, participate in meetings with various teams, and contribute to the areas and responsibilities handled. Understanding business and industry issues/trends, ensuring timely delivery of working papers as per defined timelines, and compliance with engagement plans, internal quality, and risk management procedures are key aspects of your role. You should demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, stay up to date with new pronouncements relating to Ind AS, and take ownership and accountability for delivering all aspects of the audit engagement from start to finish. Additionally, you will be responsible for front-ending and managing the internal and external quality review process for respective engagements and deliverables. Collaboration with teams, including experts and specialists involved in supporting delivery of audit engagements, is essential. In operational matters, you will be responsible for billing, collections, efficiency, optimal utilization of efforts and resources, monitoring engagement budgets, and proactively taking full responsibility for documentation and guiding/monitoring junior resources of the team.
