Job Description

JD: SOLAR EPC Sales & Business Development/

  1. Client Acquisition & Lead Generation

  • Identify, approach, and engage high-potential C&I clients across manufacturing, warehousing, commercial complexes, and institutions.
  • Generate a strong pipeline of leads for on-site (rooftop/ground-mounted) and off-site (open access, group captive) solar solutions.


  1. Technical & Commercial Proposal Development

  • Understand client energy requirements and design optimal solar solutions in coordination with technical team.
  • Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals, including financial models (CAPEX/ OPEX models).


  1. PPA & Contract Negotiation

  • Lead Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) discussions and commercial negotiations with clients.
  • Structure deals under CAPEX, OPEX, and Group Captive models as per client requirement.


  1. Market & Policy Understanding

  • Stay updated with solar policy and regulatory frameworks such as Open Access, Net Metering, and Group Captive regulations.
  • Identify new market opportunities across states and industry verticals.


  1. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, legal, and finance teams to drive project proposals through closure.
  • Assist in obtaining approvals, documentation, and coordination for project execution handover.


  1. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, industry influencers, consultants, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the organization at renewable energy events and forums.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Mechanical). MBA preferred.
  • 8 15 years of proven experience in Solar BD, specifically in C&I client acquisition and PPA structuring.
  • Deep understanding of open access, captive, and rooftop solar business models.
  • Strong commercial acumen, presentation skills, and client negotiation abilities.
  • Strong network with corporate energy heads, consultants, and facility managers.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to pursue with the Clients.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with solar EPCs, IPPs, or developers focused on C&I segment.
  • Understanding of C&I customer financials and solar ROI models.
  • Exposure to solar project financing and regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on experience with CRM tools, proposal writing, and techno-commercial presentations.
