Job Summary

What you need to know about the role
As a manager in the PayPal Partner Experience Engineering team you will manage a team of 7-10 engineers (front-end and back-end). You are expected to be an employee focused, hands-on engineering manager, who is able to coordinate project deliveries and collaborate well with other teams and managers. This is an exciting management role with a significant impact on delivering business goals. Meet our team The Partner Experience team takes care of the onboarding and servicing of large platforms (market places and aggregators) as well as their merchants. This enables large-scale business opportunities for PayPal and their partners. With a high-performing team of 50 members we deliver global business features across multiple backend and frontend components. Our strong technical foundation and the increasing use of AI helps us to succeed in a high-velocity and complex environment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Directly manages software development projects (including program management) and execution through individual contributors. May also lead project teams across platforms or groups
Implements processes to drive strong operational hygiene for all components and systems within their group
Responsible for the delivery of projects, including quality and timeliness, that impact their domain and potentially one other
Demonstrates strong tactical ability by managing the roadmap for a scrum team responsible for technical issues of diverse scope where analysis requires an understanding of current business or tends
Competent at communicating technical issues with non-technical audiences
Analyzes multiple sources of information and identifies & resolves complex technical, operational, and organizational problems relating to software development.
Collaborates with direct team, managers in org, stakeholders such as Product Owners & PMO

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification

Strong Java background
Good understanding of NodeJS
