Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Engineering Manager to lead our Software Development team with emphasis on portal between Wabtec products and customer (UI/F1/CMMS/CHMS/Dooku). This role is pivotal in driving the development and customization of our KinetiX Wayside Inspection products to meet specific customer needs and enhance overall product performance. The Engineering Software Manager will lead a small group of talented engineers and collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and third-party experts to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead World Class Software Development Team:
  • Deliver portal application and services meeting overall budget, operational and quality standards
  • Demonstrate very strong Engineering Leadership and People Management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution.
  • Provide guidance & coaching to the software engineers in the team while working cross-functionally with global engineering teams, systems engineering, program managers, technology leaders and downstream operations and support teams to ensure on-time execution with on-target quality and cost of programs.
Design Changes for Performance and Reliability:
  • Identify high-impact design changes to address reported product performance or reliability issues.
  • Act as the change agent for the team, continuously improving both tools and processes working with the engineering leadership team.
Collaboration and Testing:
  • Work closely with product managers and architects to test and validate design concepts and new technologies for next-generation products.
  • Explore opportunities to combine products from multiple product lines to offer enhanced or differentiated solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience OR Master s degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in engineering leadership roles, particularly in product development and support.
  • Background in UX/UI, full stack, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managing external resources.
