Manager, Software Engineer

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer at a global healthcare biopharma company, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems. Your role involves using creative and analytical skills to solve complex problems and create efficient, reliable software. You will collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and delivery leads to design systems, determine functional and non-functional needs, and implement solutions accordingly. You should be prepared to work independently as well as in a team. Key Responsibilities: - Evolve and maintain custom engineered scientific solutions - Design, code, verify, test, document, and refactor moderately complex applications and software configurations for deployment - Design test cases and test scripts, participate in requirement, design, and specification reviews - Elicit requirements for systems and software life cycle working practices and automation - Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the Product manager - Participate in Product planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with functional and Product goals Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any Technology stream - 5+ years of hands-on experience with technologies like REST API, HTTP, SQL, databases, and at least one programming language from the supported stack (Java, Python) - Familiarity with modern product development practices such as Agile, Scrum, test-driven development, UX, and design thinking - Knowledge of DevOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, etc.), Linux/terminal proficiency, and cloud-native ideally AWS certified - Theoretical and practical knowledge with the ability to autonomously implement tasks, including producing and deploying code - Experience with Docker and container services is a plus, background in scientific fields like computational chemistry or bioinformatics is advantageous Additional Company Details: The technology teams at our company operate as business partners, proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities.
