Manager, Software Architecture

As the Manager of Software Development Engineering at Fiserv, you will have the unique opportunity to lead a team of software engineers in modernizing the platform on Cloud, implementing product enhancements, and introducing new features. Your role will involve collaborating with Product, Enterprise Solution Architects, Scrum Masters, and the leadership team to translate requirements into a scalable software architecture that delivers significant business value. You will be instrumental in building highly scalable, highly available applications on Cloud using a microservices architecture. Your responsibilities will include leading a team of 10 to 20 software engineers as a hands-on architectural and execution leader, mentoring the team to produce high-quality engineering output, designing and building the architecture in AWS Cloud, and leveraging expertise in microservices design and development, orchestration, and real-time architecture. You will also be responsible for utilizing your expertise in compute and storage options, Cloud technologies, batch pipelines, streaming pipelines, low latency, and high throughput options. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering or possess an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or relevant work experience. You must have a minimum of 14 years of experience, with at least 3 years in roles with direct accountability for leading engineering teams to deliver on roadmaps. Proficiency in SDLC, DevOps, continuous delivery/continuous deployment, and a strong foundational development experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring integration, Spring Security, Oracle, NoSQL, RDBMS, GIT, JIRA, Maven, Confluence, on Agile methodology is essential. Experience in Restful APIs, API gateways (preferably Apigee), Kafka or other Realtime Messaging platforms, Containerization with Docker or Kubernetes, administering and consuming services in Cloud platforms like PCF, AWS, implementing full stack solutions, Micro-Services in large Enterprise organizations, high volume transactions processing applications, object-oriented design patterns, domain-driven design principles, test-driven development, and enterprise architecture frameworks is highly desirable. Additionally, having a focus on shipping software that addresses real problems, a professional approach to code quality and design, a continuous learning mindset, experience with large scale real-time applications, and the ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders are qualities that would be beneficial in this role.
