Manager - SAP Basis

Role & responsibilities

• Lead SAP S/4HANA On-Premise from a Basis perspective.
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP S/4HANA systems and related components (e.g., Fiori, HANA

DB, SAP Gateway, Solution Manager).

• Perform daily SAP Basis administration for S/4HANA systems, including monitoring, backups,

health checks, and log analysis.

• Proactive planning of hardware/system/patch etc upgrade for optimal performance of SAP

system landscape

• Manage SAP HANA database performance, patching, and housekeeping activities.
• Apply SAP support packages, kernel upgrades, and system patches.
• Monitor and manage transport requests across SAP systems.
• Perform system refreshes, client copies, and support system copies.
• Manage users, roles, and authorizations in coordination with the internal team.
• Coordinate with functional and development teams for system performance issues and transport

planning.

• Implement technical changes in non-production and production environments following change

control procedures.

• Maintain and update technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, process

documents, and landscape inventories.

• Ensure system security and compliance with audit policies and internal controls.
• Work with vendors or SAP support to resolve issues via OSS notes and service requests.
• Manage system copies, backups/restores, client copies, and transports.
• Perform SAP kernel upgrades, patching, support package installations, and system refreshes.
• Design and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations as per

business need

• Implement security best practices including SAP roles/authorizations, SSO, and SSL.
• Integrate third-party systems and ensure compatibility across all SAP components.
• Collaborate with SAP functional and development teams to support technical requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, landscape diagrams, and standard operating

procedures.

• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve Basis-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with SAP standards and system audit requirements.
• Administration of Redhat Linux environment for SAP

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP Basis consultant.
• Deep expertise in HANA database administration and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux/UNIX), networking, and system virtualization.
• Proficiency with tools such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP Maintenance Planner, and SAP HANA Cockpit.
• Experience with SAP landscape management (LaMa) is a plus.
• SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate System Administration – SAP S/4HANA) are

an advantage.

• Experience on Redhat Linux administration

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA upgrades or conversion projects.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) integration.
• Experience with hybrid deployments (cloud/on-premises landscapes).
• Migration from on premise to SAP RISE platform
