As an Underwriter for mortgage business in the assigned branch/location, your role involves reviewing and assessing a variety of complex loan applications within defined guidelines. You will be responsible for making decisions or recommending them for approval to higher authorities. Additionally, you will underwrite proposals according to laid down policies & procedures to meet agreed SLAs and manage business volumes in the city/area. Conducting personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness and ensuring completion of credit/KYC documents and verifications through telephonic, field, and collateral visits will be part of your responsibilities. Your core responsibilities will also include assessing income to obligation ratios, loan to value ratios, maintaining Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other operations related MIS of the cluster. Building effective relationships with third parties to facilitate the best outcomes for clients, owning client queries, and striving for continuous process improvement are crucial aspects of your role. You will be required to undertake critical reviews of credit proposals, ensure collateral and other credit risk mitigation, and enable quick turnaround time of credit lending proposals for mortgage business. Moreover, managing the credit underwriting function of your branch, facilitating the documentation of proposals, monitoring client & collateral creditworthiness, and ensuring adherence to legal & documentation norms & policies are key responsibilities. Qualifications for this role include being a Graduate or Masters/Post Graduate with certifications such as CA/MBA preferable.
