Manager, Production & Planning for a steel manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and execution within the steel plant. This includes developing and implementing production plans, managing inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of steel products, and optimizing resource utilization. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning: Developing and executing comprehensive production plans, considering factors like customer demand, material availability, and production capacity. Scheduling: Creating and managing production schedules, ensuring that production aligns with planned timelines and meets customer requirements. Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory levels, ensuring that raw materials and finished goods are available when needed, while minimizing storage costs and potential obsolescence. Resource Optimization: Identifying and implementing strategies to optimize resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials, to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Quality Control: Ensuring that steel products meet quality standards and specifications, collaborating with quality control teams to identify and address any issues. Cost Control: Monitoring and managing production costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or production output. Team Leadership: Leading and motivating a team of production planners, schedulers, and other production personnel. Data Analysis: Analyzing production data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to improve production processes and optimize resource utilization. Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
