Manager - Power Plant Project (Mechanical)

We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate in metal & mines business Position: Manager - Power Plant Project (Mechanical) Experience : 10+ Years Location: Chaliyama Educational Qualification- Diploma / B.Tech /B.E in Mechanical Engineering Job Purpose: The Incumbent will manage all mechanical aspects of the 35MW captive power plant project, including planning, execution, installation, commissioning, and handover, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities : Project : Lead the mechanical project planning and execution for the captive power plant. Prepare detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation for mechanical works. Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal teams for timely project execution. Review mechanical designs and drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Oversee the procurement of mechanical equipment and materials in coordination with the purchase team. Supervise erection, installation, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical systems such as cfbc, whrb, turbines, pumps, compressors, piping, cooling towers, and other balance of plant (BoP) systems. Ensure all mechanical installations meet design intent and quality standards. Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning phases. Team Management & Coordination: Manage and mentor mechanical engineers, supervisors, and contractors involved in project activities. Coordinate with electrical, civil, and instrumentation teams to ensure project integration. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and present regular project updates, progress reports, and risk assessments to senior management. Maintain complete documentation of mechanical systems, tests, and commissioning records. Experience: 10+ years of experience in mechanical project execution in the power or energy sector, with at least 5 years in captive power projects. Strong understanding of mechanical equipment used in power plants (cfbc, wrhb, turbines) Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and engineering documents Experience in greenfield or brownfield captive power plant projects Hands-on involvement in erection and commissioning of major power plant equipment Knowledge of energy efficiency, reliability, and cost control practices in power Plant Project.
