Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Costing & Analysis

Oversee preparation and validation of
product costing sheets
for all plant-manufactured items (extrusions, rolled products, castings, alloys, etc.).
Monitor and analyze
raw material costs (metals, scrap, alloys), utilities (power, gas, water), direct/indirect labor, depreciation, and overhead allocation
.
Conduct
variance analysis
between standard cost, actual cost, and budget; report deviations to management with corrective action plans.
Review costing for
new product development (NPD), tenders, and quotations
, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.

Budgeting & MIS

Lead plant-level
budgeting and forecasting
exercises related to cost and production.
Generate
monthly MIS reports
on cost performance, profitability, and efficiency for senior management.
Work closely with finance and operations to ensure accurate
period-end closing, WIP valuation, and inventory costing
.

Process Improvements

Identify opportunities for
cost reduction and efficiency improvement
in production and supply chain.
Implement best practices in
cost accounting systems, ERP usage, and data management
.
Ensure compliance with
CMA / ICWA standards, statutory norms, and internal audit controls
.

Leadership & Collaboration

Manage a small team of costing executives and analysts.
Partner with
plant head, finance, production, procurement, and quality teams
to provide cost insights for decision-making.
Act as a key liaison between
plant finance and corporate finance
teams.
