Manager - Packaging

To Develop the Packaging of New NPD launches from conceptualizaion/Ideation to commercialization and to be active part of Success journey of the Launches across multiple product categories, with an overall objective of supporting the categories in achieving their business plan.

Key focus area being:

Operation

• Drive the Development Projects Individually and to deliver the outcomes within the launch timelines
• Able to estimate Shelf life,Lead time & costings of the SKUs in differentPackaging formats.
• To Develop New competitve Packaging vendors across Pan India for all the Packaging types
• To Develop Industry Best PM with desirable aesthetics & within target costings.
• Regular benchmarking of key competition packaging to understand competitiveness.
• Development & approval of KLD’s basis sizing/fitment trials.
• Develop and monitor a system to check Quality checks of PM at Co-packer facility.
• Supporting brand teams in Artwork development and to create Mockups for approvals.
• Approving artworks and Prepress files & Printing Shade card management.
• Development of Packaging specifications & SOP’s for various packaging formats of the given product.
• To asses probable PM basis Risk analysis and able to eliminate the same in the final PM format.
• Packaging related troubleshooting both in factory as well as in market.
• Data analysis skills are required to understand to analyze the packaging related complaints.
• Presentation skill is required to present the data & packaging related activities to the key stakeholders.
• Candidate to travel to Co-packer locations across Pan India to finalize the packaging related concerns for smooth launches and to travel to Printer location for Printing approvals.

Innovation-

• Liaise with industry & Benchmark competition to understand new developments in the field of Packaging.
• Participate in idea generation for Innovation in Packaging.
• Support in feasibility study, cost estimation & selection of Idea.
• Prototyping of new concepts / new packs.
• Testing and evaluation of shortlisted ideas (Machine trial/ Transit Trial). System and Compliance
• To ensure compliance of all printed packaging material with artworks approved by all concern.
• To ensure that all Packaging Departmental SOP's are complied to in allNew Development & pack change.

Qualification & Experience

• Post Graduate diploma in Packaging from IIP(Full-time) or equivalent institute with min 8 years of experience or
• Engineer / PGD in allied fields like plastic & polymer technology, printing technology etc with min 8 year experience in FMCG packaging development

Job-related Skills

• Must have in depth knowledge of Packaging technology.
• Knowledge of FMCG & Food Packaging Scenario in India desirable.
• Contacts with Packaging material sources/vendors desirable.
• Awareness of legal requirements for packaging.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and graphics software like AI & Photoshop.
