Job Description

Role Overview: You will be the Manager, GPQSS Operations and Power Conversion & eMobility Engineering in Chennai, responsible for strategy, resource planning, competence development, and people development for all operations and engineering functions. Collaboration with cross-functional groups/teams, suppliers, and customers will be essential, along with analysis and risk management. Your leadership skills will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of your group in various aspects. Key Responsibilities: - Develop strategy preparations (short, mid & long term) aligned with Global Strategy. - Ensure meeting defined KPIs and achieving financial KPIs. - Support resource planning and allocation based on forecast of tenders & projects in collaboration with the global organization. - Review and approve techno-economic offering in tenders/projects, assess risk and opportunity. - Conduct routine reviews and follow-ups with project teams, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. - Ensure team compliance with Hitachi Energy Group standards for compliance, integrity, health & safety. - Recruit personnel as per capacity workforce planning. - Conduct personnel assessments, set targets for direct reports, identify development areas, and implement necessary actions for retention and succession planning. - Participate in strategic work, develop local strategy, and roadmap. - Work on future scope expansion and competence development. - Drive operational development for the local organization. - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business. Qualifications Required: - Master's/bachelor's degree in engineering in Electrical/Electronics is preferred. - Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years as a Group Manager (managing people managers) with a team size of 50+. - Sound knowledge in Power Quality Solutions/HVDC/Substation is preferred, along with experience in Quality, SCM, HSE, and Project Management. - Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines, strong communication, and collaboration skills are necessary. - Good intercultural sensitivity and strong leadership skills. - Excellent English speaker with dynamic and proactive communication skills. - Strong attention to detail, commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
