Manager, Global Planning

Primary Purpose

The SAP Manufacturing Solution Lead will provide ongoing support for day-to-day issues, drive enhancements, and identify solution improvements to support the business objectives. The role acts as a key internal consultant for the Supply Chain Logistics Global Planning teams, and works with cross-functional teams to optimize SAP systems and processes, primarily within SAP IBP and PPDS. This position also involves contributing to global deployments, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements, and driving continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Business As Usual (BAU) support by addressing break/fix issues, identifying enhancements, and delivering improvements for existing solutions.
• Act as an internal consultant for the Supply Chain Logistics Global Planning teams by collaborating with business and ITS teams to design processes leveraging SAP capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to standardize processes and system configurations globally, ensuring compliance with these standards across all implementations.
• Ensure end-to-end integration of SAP functions by collaborating with SAP function teams.
• Develop, prototype, test, and implement solution improvements to increase system stability, usability, and functionality.
• Support the global deployment of SAP Global Planning solutions.
• Drive the development and enhancement of SAP IBP/PPDS and other related solutions.
• Contribute to project teams and enhancements, ensuring thorough analysis and identification of all potential impacts for change requests.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members, users, and stakeholders.
• Update and maintain all relevant functional documentation.
• Conduct unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests.
• Proactively propose solutions to improve business processes and enhance system performance.
• Ensure that customer expectations are met through effective service delivery.
• Monitor and measure process compliance and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with audit, SOX, and other regulatory requirements in collaboration with business counterparts.
• Drive continuous process improvement by identifying and initiating process improvements.

Organizational Relationships

• Collaborate closely with business leaders and peers to align on the Manufacturing ERP strategy, product roadmaps, and deliverables.
• Ensure that SAP ERP solutions meet the evolving needs of Manufacturing operations and support strategic business objectives.
• Work with other IT teams to integrate and align Manufacturing ERP systems with broader digital transformation initiatives.
• Provide direction, mentorship, and performance management to achieve team objectives and promote professional growth.

Education and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field. A Master's in Business Administration (MBA), Operations Management, or a Manufacturing-related discipline is preferred.

Experience:

• 8+ years of SAP IBP/S4 PPDS experience with multiple full life cycle implementations.
• Experience in BI solutions and international environments preferred.
• Proven ability to learn and adapt to existing business processes and merge SAP capabilities with industry best practices to produce optimal solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
• Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to navigate from problem identification to resolution.
• Experience interacting comfortably with all levels of management and staff.
• Experience in the life sciences/pharmaceuticals industry is a plus.

Technical Skills Requirements

• Extensive experience in the configuration of SAP ECC, SAP S4, SAP IBP, and BI modules across several areas, including:

• Demand Planning (IBP DP)

• Supply Network Planning (IBP Supply)

  Must have.

• Collaborative Supply Planning (IBP Business Network)

  Good to have.

• Master Production Scheduling (IBP Finite Heuristic)

  Must have.

• Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (S4 PPDS)

• SCM/BI Integration and Reporting

  Good to have.

• SAP APO Supply Planning

  Good to have.
• Knowledge of key integration points across systems such as ECC/S4, BI, IBP, legacy systems, and reporting.
• Knowledge of integration points with SAP application areas like SD, MM, PP, BI, BPC, etc.
• Business Process Analysis, Design, and Improvement expertise.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with fluency in English.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to make timely decisions.
• Problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills.

Physical Position Requirements

• Location

  : Hyderabad, India.

• Working Hours

  : 3:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST (ICC Second Shift).

• Weekend Work

  : Occasionally required to minimize business impact of changes.

• Travel

  : 20-50% travel required based on project demands.

• Time Zone Overlap

  : Some overlap with the EST time zone may be necessary during production go-live or other critical project phases.
