Role Overview: At Times Internet Limited (TIL), the Corporate Development function is responsible for all inorganic initiatives in India and globally. As a Corporate Development professional, your role involves managing and executing TIL's high impact inorganic activities such as Investments, Acquisitions, Fund raising, and Divestments with a major focus on financial investments. You will be required to take ownership of various stages of the deal lifecycle, both externally and internally. Collaborating with the leadership team at TIL, your responsibilities will include: - Identifying inorganic growth opportunities aligned with the company's vision - Identifying high synergy sectors, customer segments, and product solutions - Developing an in-depth thesis for selected sectors - Engaging with founders and experts to validate the thesis - Formulating a strategy for Investments/Acquisitions in each sector - Building market intelligence to stay ahead of developments - Establishing a strong deal flow by enhancing the TIL Corp Dev brand - Partnering with ecosystem players to increase deal flow (founders, Funds, investment banks, networks) - Conducting extensive outreach to relevant mid to late-stage startup founders - Managing end-to-end deal execution, including engagement with potential investment/acquisition targets - Overseeing end-to-end deal management to drive deals to closure and post investment/acquisition, ensuring value creation and realization for TIL across investee and acquired companies Required Skills: - Strong interpersonal skills to garner respect from founders, CXOs, and leadership - Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships facilitating deal flow - Understanding of the technology landscape and a strong network within the Indian startup ecosystem - Basic understanding of the investment process, including term sheets, diligence, and definitive documentation - Self-starter mindset suited for a fast-paced and fluid environment - Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous and unstructured environments - Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex issues and influence internally and externally - High risk-taking appetite - Passion for challenging situations and ambiguous problem statements Required Experience: - 1.5-3 years of experience in VC / PE - Bachelor's degree Ideal Candidate Profile: - Education from Tier-1 institutes - 1.5-3 years experience in VC / PE - Passion for investing - Strong financial modeling, valuation, and data analysis skills - Excellent problem-solving abilities with a structured, analytical approach - Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills About Times Internet Limited (TIL): Times Internet is a leading digital products company in India, offering premium digital solutions across various sectors such as News, Sports, Fintech, and Enterprise solutions.
