Role Overview: As a Manager, Finance Analytics at Synchrony, you will be a part of the Finance Centre of Excellence organization supporting the Finance Function. Your role will involve handling financial operations management, including financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting with a focus on process improvements. You will be utilizing advanced data analytics and visualization techniques to drive financial insight and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain complex data models and reporting solutions using SAS, Python, and other analytical tools. - Ensure data integrity, quality, and accuracy in all reporting and analysis by handling large datasets efficiently. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions. - Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) operations on large datasets from multiple sources. - Build automated reporting dashboards and ad-hoc reports to support business decision-making. - Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights. - Optimize existing code and queries to improve performance and scalability. - Document processes, methodologies, and analytical findings clearly and effectively. - Stay updated with the latest data analytics trends and best practices to continuously improve analytics capabilities. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Masters Degree in Statistics/Finance/Data Science along with 4-7 years of professional experience in data analytics or data science roles, or in lieu of a degree 6 -9 years of professional experience in data analytics. - Strong proficiency in SAS (Base SAS, SAS Macro, PROC SQL) and Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.). - Hands-on experience with large-scale data handling, including data wrangling, cleaning, and manipulation. - Solid experience in reporting tools and techniques; experience with dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. - Expertise in SQL and working with relational databases. - Familiarity with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning is desirable. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in team environments. - Strong communication skills to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
