Manager - EHS

1. Leadership & Governance

• Act as the

  Head of Department (HOD)

  for EHS at the unit.
• Develop and implement unit-level EHS strategy aligned with corporate policies.
• Lead EHS team members and contractors; define roles, KPIs, and performance standards.
• Serve as the key EHS advisor to the Plant Head and leadership team.

2. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable

  Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, Air & Water Acts, Fire Safety norms

  , and other local/state/national regulations.
• Liaise with government authorities (PCB, Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department, etc.) for inspections, audits, renewals, and approvals.
• Maintain statutory registers, records, licenses, and returns.

3. Health & Safety Management

• Design, implement, and monitor safety management systems, SOPs, and permit-to-work systems.
• Conduct and review

  risk assessments, HIRA, JSA, incident investigations

  , and root cause analyses.
• Drive reduction of accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
• Lead emergency preparedness, mock drills, and disaster management planning.

4. Environmental Management

• Monitor and control environmental aspects related to laminate manufacturing (resins, emissions, effluents, waste, chemicals).
• Ensure effective operation of ETP, APCDs, and waste management systems.
• Drive initiatives for waste reduction, resource conservation, and sustainability.

5. Training & Safety Culture

• Develop and execute EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Promote safety awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Build a proactive safety culture across shopfloor and support functions.

6. Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Plan and conduct internal EHS audits; coordinate external audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, customer audits).
• Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure timely closure.
• Implement best practices, digital tools, and continuous improvement initiatives in EHS.
