We have been mandated by a large conglomerate for the below mentioned role. About Company It's a global conglomerate in Steel manufacturing. Job Title: Traffic Manager Steel Plant Location: Jharkhand Department: Logistics / Dispatch / Transport Reports to: Head Logistics / Plant Head Job Purpose: To efficiently manage and coordinate the inbound and outbound movement of vehicles/trucks within and outside the plant premises, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods while adhering to safety and compliance norms. Key Responsibilities: Vehicle Movement Coordination: Plan, schedule, and monitor the daily movement of trucks for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods. Ensure optimal utilization of transport resources and reduce vehicle turnaround time. Maintain a real-time record of vehicle entry, movement, and exit within the plant. Dispatch & Documentation: Coordinate with dispatch, stores, and production departments for timely loading and dispatch. Verify all necessary documents (e.g., challan, invoice, e-way bill, weighment slip, gate pass) before vehicle release. Vendor and Fleet Management: Liaise with transporters for timely availability of trucks. Negotiate freight rates and resolve disputes with transport vendors. Monitor performance of transporters and ensure compliance with contractual terms. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all vehicle movement is in compliance with safety, statutory, and company regulations. Coordinate with security and gate office to manage traffic inside the plant without congestion or delays. MIS and Reporting: Maintain detailed reports on truck movement, delays, demurrage, and logistics performance. Analyse traffic patterns and suggest improvements in vehicle flow and logistics efficiency. Emergency & Breakdown Handling: Address breakdowns, delays, and rerouting of vehicles in coordination with maintenance and security. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of transport logistics, preferably in a steel/industrial plant. Familiarity with ERP systems and transport management software. Good coordination and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts quickly. Awareness of legal and safety regulations related to transportation. Qualification & Experience: Education: Graduate in any discipline. Experience: 820 years of relevant experience in transport/traffic handling in a manufacturing or steel plant.
