Manager - Costing - Steel Plant

Job Responsibilities:

Plant Accounting & Financial Management:

• Responsible for plant accounting, budgetary control, MIS, sales accounting, and commercial functions
• Handle employee-related accounts, statutory compliance, and insurance matters
• Prepare annual budgets and outlook financials
• Manage the reconciliation and ageing of stock, debtors, and creditors
• Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
• Deal with excise, TDS matters, and the consolidation of final accounts

Costing & Product Analysis:

• Prepare estimated cost sheets for marketing
• Prepare actual cost statements for WIP and finished goods
• Perform stock valuation for WIP and finished goods
• Handle product costing and BOM finalization on a monthly basis
• Conduct material consumption reconciliation and cost vs. standard cost analysis
• Perform monthly analysis of material yield and variances

Inventory Management:

• Conduct ABC analysis and evaluate non/slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory
• Monitor physical stock verification (1st of every month)
• Value monthly inventory (FG/SFG/WIP) for balance sheet
• Prepare inventory obsolescence reports and working capital requirement
• Implement inventory control measures and optimize reorder levels

SAP Monthly Closing & MIS:

• Execute month-end SAP activities:
• WIP calculation
• Variance calculation
• Production and maintenance order settlement
• Activity rate calculation and upload
• Assessment cycle run
• Material master updates
• Prepare monthly MIS and financial reports
• Perform variance analysis (budgeted vs actual EBIDTA)
• Monitor and report input-output ratio, material reconciliation
• Track under- or over-absorption of conversion costs

Strategic Planning & Budgeting:

• Forecast material requirements and total inventory
• Prepare plant's annual business plan and monthly budgets
• Analyze KPIs and variances for strategic decision-making
• Monitor budget vs actual conversion costs, including variable costs

Audit & Compliance:

• Coordinate cost, tax, internal, and IGAAP audits
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory audits

Computer Skills:

• SAP HANA (FICO module), SAP R/3
• Working knowledge of MM and Costing modules
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Oracle, SOX implementation exposure
