Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications in the life insurance domain.
Utilize your hands-on experience in JCL, COBOL, IMS DB, IMS DC, and DB2 to design and implement efficient and reliable solutions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and support.
Write, test, and debug code to ensure the integrity and performance of mainframe applications.
Adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality code and meet project deadlines.
Provide support for production issues and implement necessary fixes.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer in the life insurance domain.
Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, IMS DB, IMS DC, DB2, VSAM, and SQL.
Hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of CA7 and REXX scripting language is a plus.
