Mainframe Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using

    COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM

    , and related tools.
  • Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality code.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and production support for mainframe applications.
  • Optimize existing code for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Conduct unit testing and support system/integration testing activities.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for all developed modules.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of strong, recent hands-on experience

    in mainframe development.
  • Expertise in

    COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS

    , and mainframe utilities.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with performance tuning and debugging tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
  • Experience with production support and incident resolution is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with modernization projects (Mainframe to Cloud, API integrations).
  • Familiarity with tools like

    Endevor, Changeman, REXX

    , or

    CICS

    .
