Preferred candidate profile

Capabilities of an Embedded Linux Engineer with my focus areas:,

• Embedded Linux on ARM

  : Skilled in building, configuring, and optimizing Linux for ARM-based platforms (32/64-bit), including bootloader (U-Boot), kernel, and root filesystem customization.

• Yocto Project Expertise

  : Proficient with Yocto for BSP customization, image recipes, BitBake, and reproducible builds; integrating packages, and managing build artifacts (SDKs, toolchains).

• Kernel & Device Drivers

  : Experienced in debugging and developing kernel device drivers for peripheral interfaces (IC, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, USB, MIPI, CAN), including DTS (Device Tree) authoring, sysfs/debugfs usage, and upstream patch preparation.

• Quectel SoM (plus)

  : Familiar with Quectel SoMs (e.g., SC6xx/QCM-based platforms), BSP integration, modem firmware/AT command stacks, GNSS, WiFi/Bluetooth, and cellular connectivity (APN provisioning, network bring-up).

• Board Bring-Up & HW Integration

  : Comfortable with board bring-up, pinmux configuration, regulator/clock trees, and peripheral validation using schematics/board files; collaborating with hardware teams to resolve signal/power issues.

• Boot & Init Systems

  : Strong knowledge of boot flow (ROM UBoot kernel init), secure boot concepts, and init systems (systemd), including service units, dependencies, and startup performance tuning.

• Debugging & Performance

  : Uses strace, perf, ftrace, eBPF, analyzers, and kernel logs to isolate issues; proficient with GDB, OpenOCD/JTAG, and logic analyzers/oscilloscopes for HW/SW boundary debugging.

• Connectivity & Networking

  : Configures netlink/NetworkManager/systemdnetworkd, routing, VPN, and cellular stacks; implements robust connectivity (MQTT/OPC UA as needed), and handles modem power/USB CDC interfaces.

• Security & Reliability

  : Implements secure update mechanisms (A/B, OSTree/swupdate), filesystem integrity, key/secrets handling
