Logistics Specialist

As a Logistics Specialist, you are responsible for managing logistics activities to meet business fulfillment requirements while focusing on reducing transportation costs. Your role involves collecting and communicating information related to shipments, projects, and services, providing logistics support, finding optimal transportation modes, and securing the best transportation rates. - Route cargo according to legal and customer requirements - Coordinate the routing process efficiently - Take a proactive approach to resolving issues and taking ownership of shipments - Conduct research and provide subject matter expertise in logistics and transportation - Prepare preliminary packing lists to offer clients project cargo-specific details - Utilize logistics applications such as Allyn Logistics Application (ALA) or Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) - Issue shipping documentation accurately, including certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insurance - Communicate with freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, clients, and internal team members - Contract external logistics service providers for route and port surveys - Ensure compliance with transport regulations, including permitting, over-dimensional, and hazardous cargo - Monitor and track shipments, keeping clients informed of the status - Capture all costs associated with each shipment - Identify and capture savings and added value opportunities - Track and resolve freight claims - Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers - Conduct training for newcomers, internal team members, or external customers/suppliers as needed - Fluent in English - Secondary school or University degree with a specialization in Logistics preferred - Experience in handling shipments to Middle East/North Africa/Turkey - Knowledge of imports/exports/domestic transportation to GCC/non-GCC countries in the Middle East - Familiarity with customs/documentation requirements in GCC/non-GCC and North African countries - Understanding of International Trade and Management - Knowledge of legal and customs regulations - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team - Ability to work well under pressure - Strong project management skills,
