Logistics Head

As the Logistics Head at Alvita Institute of International Careers in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage logistics operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials. You will be required to develop and implement strategies to optimize the logistics network, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to plan and execute logistics strategies aligned with business objectives is essential. Monitoring logistics costs and budgets, implementing cost-saving measures, and ensuring compliance with local, national, and international logistics regulations and standards will be part of your role. Utilizing technology and software such as Active Directory to enhance logistics management systems and processes is crucial. Providing leadership and guidance to the logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, will also be expected of you. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure the smooth flow of goods. Conducting risk assessments, developing contingency plans to mitigate logistics challenges and disruptions, managing the integration of new logistics technologies like C++/CLI, and implementing training programs and workshops, possibly using tools like Captivate, to upskill team members and improve logistics competencies will also be part of your duties. To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, along with proven experience in a logistics management role, preferably as a Logistics Head or similar position. Proficiency in logistics software and systems, particularly in Active Directory and C++/CLI, is required. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team. In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation and warehousing, is necessary, as well as the ability to develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies aligned with business goals. Experience with digital content tools like Captivate and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also crucial for this role. Proficiency in budgeting and cost management, familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the logistics industry, particularly in the Coimbatore region and larger Indian context, are also required qualifications.
