Job Title:

Associates / Senior Associates Litigation

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Drafting and Documentation:

    Prepare and finalize a wide range of legal documents, including Plaints, Written Statements, Affidavits, Powers of Attorney, Rejoinders, Writ Petitions, Applications, Legal Notices, Summary Suits, Chamber Summons, Notices of Motion, Appeals, Civil Applications, Counterclaims, and Consent Terms, ensuring clarity, precision, and procedural compliance.
  2. Court Appearances and Representation:

    Represent the Firm before various judicial and quasi-judicial authorities, including the High Court, City Civil Court, Sessions Court, Small Causes Court, Metropolitan Magistrates Court, Co-operative Court, Consumer Court, Family Court, DRT, DRAT, RERA, NCLT, SAT, and other forums, as required.
  3. Matter Handling:

    Handle litigation matters pertaining to property disputes, testamentary and intestate succession, family disputes, and recovery suits involving land and property-related issues.
  4. Research and Case Management:

    Conduct in-depth legal research on varied legal issues; ensure timely filing of pleadings, affidavits, and replies; and track case progress to facilitate efficient and effective resolution.
  5. Litigation Tracking and Reporting:

    Maintain accurate and updated records of all litigation matters within the Firms Litigation Management System to ensure timely actions, strategic follow-ups, and effective representation.
  6. Legal Advisory:

    Provide legal opinions and advisory support on property-related matters across diverse land categories (urban, rural, agricultural, industrial, and forest lands), covering issues such as title verification, encumbrances, easements, mortgages, charges, and succession.
  7. Legacy Litigation and Coordination:

    Coordinate legacy litigation matters in consultation with external counsel, ensuring proper documentation, maintenance of records, and timely updates on case developments and appearances.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education:

    LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
  • Experience:

    • Associate:

      2-4 years of litigation experience from a recognized law firm.
    • Senior Associate:

      5-9 years of litigation experience from a recognized law firm.
  • Core Competencies:

    • Strong command over drafting, research, and analytical skills.
    • Thorough understanding of procedural and substantive civil law.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple matters and work under tight timelines.
    • Sound judgment and strategic problem-solving approach.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Prior experience appearing before High Courts and lower courts preferred.
    • Proficiency in using legal databases and case management systems.
    • Strong organizational and coordination skills for managing case files and deadlines.
