Location: St. Teresa School, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad

Reports To: Principal / Academic Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Librarian will be responsible for managing the school library efficiently, fostering a love for reading among students, and supporting academic learning through effective organization and utilization of library resources. The role demands a proactive, student-friendly individual with strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize, maintain, and catalog all books, journals, and digital resources.
• Support students and teachers in locating and utilizing library materials.
• Develop and implement programs to encourage reading habits among students.
• Ensure proper issuance and return of books as per library policies.
• Maintain an updated record of library assets, subscriptions, and resources.
• Coordinate with teachers to provide curriculum-related reading materials.
• Maintain discipline and a conducive reading environment in the library.
• Plan periodic book exhibitions, reading weeks, and literacy-based activities.
• Ensure proper maintenance, labeling, and repair of books and materials.
• Manage library software systems and update records digitally.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Science.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a school library (preferred).
• Strong organizational and cataloging skills.
• Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for books, reading, and student engagement.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Saturday (as per school timings).

Compensation:

• Salary commensurate with experience and school norms.
