Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role (Salt Lake Kolkata) for a Legal Head- Litigation, Arbitration, and Legal Transactions Specialist at SM Group with flagship company as OCL Iron & Steels Limited with registered office in salt lake Kolkata. The Legal Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters within the company, including litigation, arbitration (domestic and international), legal transactions like IBC acquisitions through CIRP or Liquidation process, M&A, public listing and corporate advisory and mines and Customs related legal matters. Daily tasks will include providing legal advice, ensuring legal compliance, preparing legal documents, and addressing legal issues as they arise, overseeing and managing all legal matters within the company, including litigation, arbitration (domestic and international), legal transactions like IBC acquisitions through CIRP or Liquidation process, M&A, public listing and corporate advisory and leading a legal team under him/her, liaising with external counsels and solicitors.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Law, Legal Compliance, and Legal Consulting, litigation, arbitration (domestic and international), legal transactions like IBC acquisitions through CIRP or Liquidation process, M&A, public listing and corporate advisory
• Minimum relevant work experience of 18 years. Retired legal heads or person who were in senior legal positions, in good health and willing to put in the relevant time required for handling entire SM Group's corporate legal matters are welcome to apply as well
• Expertise in Legal Document Preparation and addressing Legal Issues
• Good network with external counsels and solicitors on PAN India basis
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams
• Experience in the iron and steel industry is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field required; advanced degrees are a plus
