Legal and Compliance Leader

As the Lead Legal and Compliance Counsel for Purchase APAC, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all legal and compliance matters related to Purchasing activities in the Asia-Pacific region. This leadership position within the Purchase BU requires a strategic thinker with expertise in law and business, as you navigate complex legal landscapes to ensure compliance and integrity. Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Senior Vice President, Legal & Compliance, Purchase, you will be an integral part of the APAC regional management team. Collaboration with global legal and compliance teams across Europe, North America, and Asia, as well as local legal teams in APAC countries, will be essential in your role. Your responsibilities will include acting as a trusted advisor for legal and compliance issues, identifying and mitigating risks, providing expert counsel to support business goals, drafting and approving purchasing-related agreements, designing regional legal frameworks, ensuring compliance with Orgs programs, leading projects, resolving disputes, and mentoring colleagues within the Purchase Legal & Compliance team. To excel in this position, you should possess a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in legal and compliance roles at the regional level, preferably within a global organization. Your integrity, professionalism, and expertise in legal and compliance matters, including European standards, will be crucial. Extensive experience in purchasing contracts, knowledge of regulatory frameworks in APAC and neighboring regions, strategic thinking, collaborative work style, proficiency in English (especially legal/technical), and industry experience in automotive or manufacturing will further strengthen your suitability for this role.
