Legal Advocate

As a Legal Advocate, you will be responsible for conducting legal analysis, researching legal matters, and providing advice on various legal issues. You will draft legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing documents, review legal material, and formulate formalities regarding settlements of disputes. Additionally, you will arrange for translators for legal appointments and court dates when necessary. Your role will also involve assessing and addressing service needs, providing relevant information on rights and available options to clients, and connecting them to appropriate resources. You will build relationships with community organizations and attorneys, maintain resources for program and client success, and liaise with civil authorities for planning permissions and building approvals. Guiding clients through dispute resolution processes, including litigation, will be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure that all protocols and performance standards are met in service implementation and provide emotional support to clients throughout legal proceedings. Collaborating with legal professionals from other disciplines and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts will also be key aspects of your work. The ideal candidate should possess fluent verbal communication, superior writing skills, and the ability to write persuasively in the passive voice. Understanding audience/client personas, using suitable action words, and keeping drafts concise, chronological, and organized are essential skills for this role.
