"Improve workforce performance and productivity, boosts business agility, increases revenue and reduces costsThe Instructional Design Manager implements the overall instructional design of learning products developed in the CDC ensuring that projects successfully evolve from sponsor/stakeholders expectations through development of assets and effective and efficient deployment of the asset(sThe Instructional Design Manager has the primary purpose of managing all stages of capability enabler architecture, design, build and test for CDC products. The Instructional Design Manager manages multiple projects at a time and supervises 6 to 20 professionals. The Instructional Design Manager establishes cross-project procedures and policies, and provides guidance and leadership to Instructional Design team members for any learning design obstacles encountered regardless of complexity. Deliver instructional information for an audience based on learning activities approaches to help an organization achieve their learning goals."

Qualifications:Education?¢Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Cognitive Psychology, English, Technical Writing, Communications, related field or equivalent experience. Specialist - Masters degree (preferred) in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or Adult Education.Work Experience?¢6+ years experience in developing performance enablement solutions OR experience managing programs, projects, and teams within training/ learning environment.Work Requirements?¢Potential to travel less than 10% of time.oIn-depth functional/technical knowledge and expertise, particularly related to capability and enablement productsoStrong project management skills oDeep understanding of methodology and product development processes for the product lifecycleoWell developed risk analysis and mitigation skillsoAbility to lead a distributed team with diverse competencies, skills, and abilitiesoProactive issue/conflict identification and resolutionoStrong problem solving, analysis, and design skillsoStrong knowledge and practical experience with the following applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)"
Roles and Responsibilities: "?¢?¢Planning/Analysis/Design PhaseoDesign products, collaborate on solution options/tradeoffs, estimate costs, create approach and timeline, create resource plan, identify risks and mitigation plans, identify sponsor expectations, and gain sign-off by all stakeholders.oAdapt and apply standard methods and best practices to meet client needs/preferences.oCreate budget and work plan/ task list, oversee adherence. oSynthesize and distill key findings from complex sets of information. ?¢Design, Build, and Test Phase:oManage and direct design, content, and media team leads, for both technical and non-technical aspects of the project.oManage course testing and implement feedback as appropriateoEnsure quality of all project deliverables.oManage relationship with deployment, delivery and support, and other teams to ensure clear communication and smooth transition from development to deployment/delivery.oManage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Project Sponsor, Solutions Management and Business Interlock focusing on delivering a high quality, comprehensive approach to learning.?¢Follow up with clients/customers to make sure requirements have been met.?¢Involve individuals with different perspectives and areas of expertise to help analyze issues or formulate approach. ?¢Operating Phase:oAssess and address both symptoms and root causes of a problem.oEnsure that proposed solutions to a conflict have addressed the issue.?¢Work Management:oMonitor and control the development effort with regard to scope, process, quality, effort, risk, and timeline.oManage resolution of project-wide issues or issues that cannot be resolved by the team leads.oAssign or delegate work to the appropriate team leads.oEncourage reuse of architectures and processes to meet requirements. Adapt and improve them.oProvide status reports to Program Director or client sponsors as required?¢PeopleoIdentify project resource needs, define roles and expectations of team members, and ensure resources are utilized effectively for a project.oProvide team members with a clear sense of direction and understanding of each other??s responsibilities to ensure a highly motivated and efficient team. oManage small or medium size projects, responsible for managing and coaching other project managers.o Responsible for day-to-day supervision and quality of a key area, such as learning, technology, or testing.oAct as Career counselor for people at level C and below."
