Job Description

As a Tobacco Leaf Procurement Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing tobacco procurement, stock management, and ensuring quality according to PMI standards within the assigned geographical area in collaboration with Third Party Manufacturers. Your role will involve assisting the GLPD team in leaf grade setting, organizing inspections, and supervising blending standards in GLT. You will also be required to liaise with Third Party Manufacturers and other stakeholders to manage leaf tobacco, processing schedules, and logistics effectively. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supervising and reporting on the manufacturing processes at Third Party Manufacturers to ensure compliance with quantity, quality, and cost standards set by PMI and contractual agreements. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing Tobacco Leaf Analysis samples, organizing data according to PMI Standards, and updating relevant systems at PMI. Your accountability will extend to maintaining tobacco leaf quality standards as set by the GLPD team, overseeing leaf tobacco purchases by Third Party Manufacturers and Suppliers for both domestic and export requirements while ensuring quality and cost benchmarks are met. You will also be responsible for arranging leaf grade inspections, preparing reports, and managing pre-blending block manufacturing at Third Party GLT to guarantee leaf quality parameters align with PMI standards. Furthermore, you will be tasked with scheduling leaf processing at GLT, managing logistics for primary manufacturing at Third Party Manufacturers based on the production plan, and overseeing tobacco leaf analysis and data management for all leaf grades. Your role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, S&OP, and demand planning teams to ensure seamless operations. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or agriculture, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leaf tobacco buying, grading, and processing. You are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of green leaf quality and grading systems, as well as a profound understanding of processing quality parameters in Green Leaf Threshing. Proficiency in basic computer skills such as MS Office is required, and experience working with systems like SAP and PLM would be advantageous. Strong written and spoken English skills are essential for effective communication in this role.
