Lead - Techno Commercial

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process by handling core procurement activities such as reviewing purchase requisitions (PRs) from user departments, ensuring correctness and completeness, and identifying the appropriate procurement method based on various factors. Your strategic sourcing responsibilities will involve selecting bidding processes, preparing vendor selection approaches, and evaluating vendors based on predefined criteria. You will also be involved in conducting negotiations with shortlisted bidders and preparing necessary documentation for vendor selection and contract approval. In addition to strategic sourcing, you will be responsible for contract preparation and order placement, including setting up contract records in the ERP system, maintaining contract documents for future reference, and obtaining necessary approvals as per the Delegation of Authority (DoA). You will also work on procurement through rate contracts, prepare purchase orders based on approved contracts, and manage post-order activities such as billing, expediting deliveries, and handling change orders or amendments. Supplier management is a key aspect of this role, involving supplier identification, onboarding, evaluation, and performance management. You will coordinate with new vendors, evaluate vendor submissions, and update the approved vendor list based on evaluation criteria. Furthermore, you will contribute to the performance evaluation and development planning of suppliers, including preparing vendor segmentation matrices, evaluating vendor performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement. To excel in this role, you should have 5-10 years of experience in buyer activities within the Thermal Power Plant and Manufacturing Plant industry. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is required, along with an MBA qualification.
